Nation Building Habits

“Being miserable is a habit; being happy is a habit; and the choice is yours.” - #TomHopkins

#SouthAfrica is currently having a mix of feelings. There is #hope and there is #fear. There is #joy and there is #sadness.  Ultimately what becomes of us is truly up to us as South Africans and no one can be blamed for things going wrong.

We have seen how a regular man can become extraordinary and with the support of mentors, coaches and friends can make a difference. Thank You Tata #Mandela.

He was not born with special powers, his friends did not have invincibility suits – they loved and trusted each other and the South African people with their lives. And they came up as #conquerors.

It is time that South Africans stand together and trust one another then we can truly become the great nation we itch to be.

There will always be people that want to dampen the mood – but it is up to us to make happiness our habit or misery our habit.

Some of the US media and politicians have chosen to be miserable about the #ObamaSelfie and him shaking #Castro’s hand. While I think these have both been blown completely out of proportion - we can choose to make ourselves miserable over some of the imperfections that happened – or we can learn, apply and move on in #peace.
